Take the grain bag out of the scarf

Fold up the grain bag in 3 layers on a clean plate.

Microwave for 1 minute at 900 Watts.

Take out and shake to evenly distribute the heat.

Then microwave for one more minute.

Shake again to get rid of excess moisture.

Put the grain bag back in the scarf.

Check temperature before application


oven instructions

Take the grain bag out of the scarf.

Fold up the grain bag in 3 layers.

Place the grain bag between two plates.

Put the plates in the middle of the oven.

Heat the oven at 100 °c for 30 minutes.

Carefully remove the hot, top plate and take out the grain bag.

Put the grain bag back in the scarf.

Check temperature before application.

Enjoy the natural warmth and relax.



Take the grain bag out of the scarf.

Fold up the grain bag in 3 layers.

Put it in a hermetically sealed plastic bag.

Store it in the freezer for 2 hours.

Put the grain bag back in the scarf.

Apply the cold compress for no longer than 10 minutes.


When you are not using the Hotscarf regularly, keep the Hotscarf in a sealed plastic bag in a cool & dry place.

Washing instructions

Inner scarf

Do not wash the spelt filled linen grain bag.


Outer scarf

To maintain the soft texture of the scarf it is recommended to wash the scarf by hand in luke warm water (30°c) with a mild detergent. Hang to dry.

Before washing please remove the grain bag from the scarf.

Safety information

  • Never heat the Hotscarf grain bag for a longer time than indicated, 2 x one minute at 900 watts in the microwave or 30 minutes in the oven at 100°C.
  • Heating in the microwave may only performed on a microwaveable plate or disk, never on metal.
  • Shake the heated Hotscarf to distribute the heat evenly.
  • Before application, carefully test the temperature against the back of your hand.
  • If the heated scarf is too hot, allow it to cool off before use.
  • If the heated scarf is not warm enough, reheat in increments of 20 seconds
  • Let the Hotscarf fully cool down before heating again.
  • Overheating can cause sear and fire damage.
  • Overheating can cause grain to dry out completely which could lead to spontaneous ignition.
  • When using the Hotscarf very often you may replace moisture by lubricating the grain bag with a plant spray before heating.
  • Do not use the heated scarf on inflammation, eczema, or tumors. People with cardiovascular diseases should check with their doctor before use.
  • Do not use the cold grain filled scarf longer than 10 minutes.
  • The heated or cold grain filled scarf should be used only under adult supervision.
  • Use the product only for its intended use. There is no protection to guard against improper treatment or use.
